We had a second hand store open and close here, (On the Oregon Coast),in less than two months. They started out, BEGGING for donations, and even putting an ad in the local paper, asking for “anything, you no longer need, and/or, want”, What finally did them in, was….. TWO "ODDLY SUSPICIOUS " things……when you’d bring in clothing donations… they REFUSED to take anything that wasn’t LAUNDERED, IRONED, AND EITHER ON A HANGER OR VERY NICELY FOLDED!!?? What finally closed their doors was….. Whenever someone asked them… "And, for what charity do you raise money for?. They’d refuse to give a straight answer, or abruptly change the subject?!? You would NEVER SEE…. an item you’d brought in, like maybe only a week previously. for sale in their store. We live in a fairly small, beach community and there are a LOT of logo style T-Shirts, windbreakers, ball caps, etc. with our town’s name and reference logos on them. We donated many, many, items (when the kids outgrew them), and we never did see, any of these items in their store, even if we’d “stop by on purpose, to check”. no matter how much, or, how little time had passed?
“PETA”…. (“People Eating Tasty Animals”.)…. Are one of the largest group of idiots and hypocrites, going. They’re “plentiful”, we’ll call it, in our area and whenever i run into one of their members I always ask them….. "Nice, LEATHER belt, YOU’RE wearing… where did you buy it? "Or, depending…. I’ll substitute the “belt”, with a purse, the shoes they’re wearing, etc. it just depends on the leather item they’re wearing at the time!!?! My “all time greatest hit”… was a woman who was handing out PETA literature, outside the local animal shelter and was wearing a very nice MINK Stole!?! I couldn’t resist asking her…. "So! You’re with Peta? Then, that HAS to be a “fake fur”, right?" She gave me one of those… “nose in the air” stuck up looks and told me…. “A fake fur”?? I should SAY NOT, Sir!"
