Fifty years in video production. Transitioned to doing operations for one of the largest auction houses in the country. Seen a lot of cool stuff while working here--the airplane from "Airplane," a several-million-dollar Mickey Mantle card and a number of movie posters that are the only known ones in the world. Married in a far suburb of Dallas, no kids.

My wife and I have an ongoing argument (er, discussion) about whether or not there is inside and outside to men’s underwear. She points out the colored waistband with one side darker than the other…and I show her the flap just below that is present on both sides. We never will agree on this subject!

I think it’s amazing too that people will spend that much, but…I’m happy they do. I work for an auction company that started off selling coins and has diversified into many other categories. I’ve seen so many incredible things there, and this week I’m going to get the chance to see the guitar that Gordon Lightfoot wrote "Sundown’ and “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald” on.

Back in the 80s, I dated a woman who had worked in the White House in the Agriculture Department under Carter. There was a staff reunion in Plains and she asked if I wanted to go—of course I did! There was a softball game every afternoon (Jimmy always pitched) and I got to play on his team. There were so many people who wanted to play that everybody rotated in and out. I started off hitting a single and ended up scoring. Since they didn’t know me or how well I could play, they put me out in right field. Well…bases loaded, two outs and the only fly ball in weeks to right field headed my way. I ran up on it and then realized, “Nope” so I backpedaled and the ball fell in my glove! And then they took me out and somebody else rotated in. Best moment in my entire sports life!

You’re right…fascinating (and yes, that musical phrase in ingrained in my mind). Thanks!

First album I ever bought was the Monster Mash. Wish I still had it—it’s worth a lot of money now!
