Obviously this is the classic style of teapot where, depending where you put a finger, a different liquid is released. I think they called it a Poisoner’s Pot.
As others have pointed out, that Baxter had a habit of showing up every time Fata pulled a fade, Tracy already had reason to suspect the truth. Running afterwards didn’t help.
Beyond that, even if he didn’t suspect something, he’d still need to track Baxter down both to ensure he was okay and to get a statement. Close scrutiny would have quickly penetrated the disguise. Plus Baxter wouldn’t have any actual legal records of his existence, unless Fata was extremely meticulous… and I’ve seen nothing but evidence to the contrary given how easy it was to connect her to the murder and poisoning (the murder could be missed, but she used her REAL NAME for the poisoning), and her reliance on a backup plan she’s used more than once.
No, you guys don’t quite get it. His head’s full of microscopic metal fragments. They’re putting him into an x-ray machine. There’s a reason they tell you to remove all metal before getting one.
