I never really understood other girls’ (especially freshmen) obsession with wanting to date the senior dudes. Always found it creepy, even while I was in high school…
In my slightly more recent times of being in school compared to most here, they do still recite it over the intercom, but most kids in grade 6th or higher couldn’t care less about participating. Nobody gets in trouble for it, but perhaps it varies by state.
I suppose it differs from state to state? My schools had it recited over the intercom, but by the time I was in middle school most kids didn’t bother standing for it or repeating and nobody ever got in trouble.
Yeah, gord! So proud of him. I don’t think Brian’s being a jerk, these guys are what, 18? 19? All I see is a dude just making sure his friend is making the right decision, even if he uses some poor word choices. This strip is sweet :)
To quote the late and great Steve Irwin: “Crocodiles are easy, they just try to kill and eat you. People are harder. Sometimes they pretend to be your friend first.”
Rosalyn! Odd tidbit, when I was younger I must’ve only read a very select few strips with her in them, because for the longest time I thought she was Calvin’s college-aged sister!
(though around that time I also learned I wasn’t into dudes at all…that’s probably why!)
