I love the detail that Will puts into his art. The middle panel is incredible; the trees have great character, the stone wall, and gate are beautiful and truly represent what you might find. Love the bluebird on the stone – why does it have a hole, is it an old pump stone? (BTW Rhode Island has a 19th c. tradition of stone wall craft like nowhere else. It varies by town and county.)

The sketchy bricks and stone arch in the background give it a medieval feel that makes a big difference! Kudos.

And now we know, thanks to Michael Reardon, that Umbrella Guy’s name is Fuzzy!

The stars and silhouettes are beautifully done in the last panel, but what makes it really work is the light on the two houses, which turns it into a three-dimensional view.

Wow, I love knowing that. An “easter egg” before they became a thing. I will look for Fuzzy every day. Thank you for answering. You must be proud of how your dad was an innovator in so many ways.

Each one of those panels is a work of art; each could stand on it’s own for the humor, mood and memories each evoke. However, the last panel is epic.

What is the history of the umbrella man? Is there any meaning behind him?

I love the way Carl’s tail becomes jagged to emphasize his declaration!
