Owned a music store for decades; used to tell customers “the reason why there are so many recordings in the store is b/c everyone has different tastes!” Yep, it’s a female vocal choir so not many instruments. Glad you tried it!
Try listening to the music of the Bulgarian Female Vocal choir, like their most famous recording: “The Mystery of the Bulgarian Voices”. I owned a Classical Music store in the 1980s and early 1990s. That recording and others by the Bulgarian Voices were very popular. (I didn’t only carry Classical Music!) I still play the recordings, beautiful and haunting Bulgarian folk singing with unusual harmonies and melodies.
Do you know Grusin’s “Thank Song”? I bought a copy to play on piano. Beautiful, peaceful piano work of genius. (It was on his Mountain Dance album/CD.)
Yes, continuing on UlrigJaeger’s comment. I adore the music of Hildegard of Bingen; she was a genius by any account. A few decades ago, the “record of the decade” award was given to a recording on the Hyperion label – “A Feather on the Breath of God”, a recording of Hildegard’s music. One of the most beautiful and soothing recordings ever made. Doesn’t hurt that the pure-toned soprano is the incomparable Emma Kirkby. If you ever have a chance to try it out, you won’t regret it. Try listening to it when you’re stressed out…beautiful!
I have a large porch and lots of wind chimes. My favorite is one my colleagues got for me after my father passed away – beautiful deep one – they even engraved his name on it. Never fear – my chimes don’t offend anyone b/c we live on 5 acres.
It’s Shaun the Sheep!!
