Is that supposed to be a diamond stud in her nose in panel 2 or just a booger that no one has told her about ?? If it’s a nose ring I think it’s a bit too high

I lived in Evansville from ‘79-’81 and the Triplets had 5-6 units at our apartment complex rented for players either being called up or sent down from the Show and a couple of regulars lived there. We got to be friends with them and they put us on the pass list and we went to almost every home game in ‘80 and ’81. I remember Mark “The Bird” Fidrych (RIP) was with them at that time. Got to know him a little bit as he always sat on the bullpen tractor the mowed the grass and drug the infield. Very funny guy, it’s a shame injuries derailed his career.

You sir, are correct ! You are considered to be when you go airborne. It would not be an out if you land on the opposite side of the boundary before making contact with the ball.

Yes I agree that in Little League your better all round players can / do play other positions and mostly the key positions of ss, catcher and cf. I was president of our local LL for 5 years and I can’t remember one single kid who was a pitcher only. However as I said I started announcing almost 20 years ago and I’ve seen it becoming more and more common. And you are correct about doing a better job of fielding grounders LOL

Actually it’s not that uncommon for there to be pitcher-only kids on High School teams. I’ve been announcing our local high school games for 19 years and our team has 3 this year. Anyone who can throw from the left side no matter how un-athletic, are often kept on teams hoping they blossom into something. They never bat or play the field. Also in lower division colleges you still see some pitcher – fielder types but it is also becoming more and more rare – not that the writer of this strip would probably know.
