My wife always had indoor/outdoor cats when she was growing up, but my stipulation when we got our first kitty was she must be an indoor cat. We have been together for 38 yrs, had many kitties and they all live long and healthy lives. I should add that they have a 2nd story contained deck to go outside and enjoy the fresh air and watch the world. One of our girls is a very skilled hunter and has managed to get a low flying bird, a dragonfly, and a june bug. We felt bad, but those were collateral damage and after all she is a cat!!

Not surprised at all. We were once doing a hike in 100+ degree weather in Arizona and we encountered a couple who were sharing a small store bought bottle of water. At least they had the proper footwear.
