Never mind dial phone, these days you’re old even if you’ve used a touch-tone phone.

To be fair (regarding car prices), cars today are much more technologically advanced compared to the cars of yore. My current car (2013 model) is practically a space ship compared to the 1968 car I had when I first started driving. And the extra tech is worth it — the collision avoidance system saved my life a few years ago, or at least saved me from horrendous injuries; you can’t put a price on that. Plus they’re much more reliable; I remember the days when you were pushing your luck to have a car last 100,000 miles, now that’s just getting worn in, and these days you basically don’t have to open the hood for 30,000 miles, whereas in the old days you’d have to check the fluids and belts nearly every time you stopped for gas, and frequently adjust the timing and spark gaps and idle mixture and change the points in the distributor and clean the carburetor and so on.
Likewise, people complain about healthcare costs lately, but medical science is hugely advanced today compared to what was available to your grandparents. It’s unfair to expect to get 21st century medical care at the cost of 1950’s medical care, unless you’re willing to limit yourself to only the treatments and diagnostics and knowledge from the 50’s.

The reason you “have to pay property taxes on houses we do not own until it’s paid off” is because for the most part those property taxes are paying for the city services you use when you live there (things like sewage, garbage pickup, roads, fire stations, etc.), which you still use even while your house isn’t yet paid off.

Well, he could try living in a non-capitalistic system, where his life is influenced by the demands of the Politburo, which history shows is far, far worse (and more deadly) than just having to provide any useful service to customers in whatever capacity you opt to do so.

No one obsesses over race as much as the American Left. Absolutely everything is seen through a lens of race and other identity groups to them. The Left can’t stop talking about race.
Also, things like:The Left: “Non-white people are helpless incompetents who won’t be able to acquire a free photo ID given a two-year lead time before the next election, thus we vehemently oppose voter ID!”The Right: “We’re pretty sure non-white people are capable adults who can manage that simple task just as well as anyone else, and likely already have photo IDs anyway like any functional adult.”Guess which group is called “racists”?

Remember what you thought of people who were so obsessed as to turn any topic whatsoever into a knee-jerk rant about Obama or Biden? Congratulations, that’s you now.
Thanks, now that song is stuck in my head.
Speaking of which, I saw that YouTube had a video of the very old black-and-white “Cracker Jack” TV commercial with the kids singing, and without even watching it, the song from the ad popped into my head and played flawlessly all the way through even though I haven’t seen or heard that commercial in about 50 years.
