    I’m thankful that today’s strip isn’t a slap at football fans. Although, if we know the artist (a guy who hates football and doesn’t watch TV) it’s a good bet that football on TV is what gave rise to today’s content.

    Isn’t it simply that she expected / hoped for some display of gratitude? Pretty mild (not to mention inaudible) rebuke, mainly about something they didn’t do, and not truly about who they are as people.

    As for “intermittent pain” I think your clock works a little differently than mine. The word constant is more like it. Oh, and another: total.

    Validate what? I’d bet that their choice of religion is unshakeable. It’s their absurd belief that as white Christians, the USA is THEIR country, and that giving in to the preferences of the “radical left” would be a sign of weakness and capitulation.

    That’s not a lot of jobs. You had to be pretty good to hold down a roster spot in the days before expansion. I don’t think there were too many guys back then who would make a team if their only skill was breaking jaws

    Well, most any NHL fan can do it, I’m guessing. There just aren’t very many of us. Hockey is one of the four major team sports, but just barely. And I can’t guess what the crossover appeal is between ice hockey and comics.
