I grew up with Legos when they were just blocks. Passed them onto my son, who added to the collection, but they not just blocks for the imagination – now they came in ‘sets’ and after being built once, were added to the bins of blocks to be used and reused to create all sorts of different ‘non-set’ structures.
His mother, a nurse, only saw the ‘sets’ could exist as sets, not as part of a larger collection to make new and imaginative things. Her insistence that the ‘sets’ only exist as sets eventually drove my son away from the Legos.
1/3 of the population isn’t going to vote, and this is an improvement over the past 50 years. At least the undecided understands neither choice is good, much less great. the other 2/3’s are just voting per their echo chamber
