In addition to the art style being jarring and confusing, I had been impressed that Heart of the City was one of the syndicated comics dealing with the pandemic and how it affects the characters. The new version by Steenz and the horrible illustrator has lost everything that made Heart special. I’ll remove it from my favorites and then just check back in 6 months and see if it got better.
It took me a moment, too, pre-coffee, and I do home fermenting. I think most people won’t get this joke. On the other hand, what grade school kid would bring in fermentation starter for show and tell?
Plastic bendy straws were invented to help the disabled drink liquid. While I agree that people who don’t need straws, or who can use an alternative, should do so, banning something that some people need to live is cruel. Just have non-disabled people cut down on usage.
Yes, it’s spread by the oil. I can’t recall the last couple days of Nest Heads, but I assume, by now, that Grandpa has washed his skin, put on calamine lotion, etc. Once all that’s done, it shouldn’t be spreading, however he should have his own towels to use and the kids are smart to stay away.
Considering there’s a vaccine for chicken pox, eliminating the need for chicken pox parties, the writer of this cartoon strip is either an anti-vaxxer or terribly behind the times.
