The whole point of Darrin’s satire is to let people put themselves in the shoes of refugees. Apparently some commenters here can’t do that. They don’t get that humans who have escaped drug gangs and or police in Central America and fought their way north through Mexico through crooked smugglers and other thieves are fleeing for their lives and are therefore genuine refugees in every sense of the word. A new book by Isabel Allende: ‘In the Midst of Winter’ will give insight into how very different people become refugees and the variety of routes they may travel.
I tip my hat to Darrin. He is one of the very best satirists working today. I’m sure Garry Trudeau reads Candorville with his morning coffee. Probably Steve Colbert too!
Absolutely wonderful
