I barely remember when the evening news expanded to half an hour from fifteen minutes. That gave the networks time to tell you how to feel about the news (not that there was much more news). Now you can be entertained for twenty three hours and forty five minutes being told how you feel about fifteen minutes of news from any politic-emotional-demographic perspective that suits you. I miss Paul Harvey, at least he said outright his program ( five minutes in the morning) was news and comment.

Because voters are not interested in what it takes to research and elect good leaders. Regrettably we have met the enemy and it is us.

The Trumpster is living rent free in Nicks emaciated brain.

I understand there was a nap scheduled he didn’t want to miss. Prez Jimmuh is looking better day by day, well relatively speaking.

It would have been helpful had she recorded his previous 9 crimes in Houston, the information is available in open records. Perhaps with help he could have avoided the situation he found himself in. That doesn’t mean I blame him or the officer, there were underlying problems on both sides of the encounter. A great chasm of mistrust between the two persons involved. Regrettably when the deck is stacked between an armed officer and an unarmed citizen, the citizen typically looses.

I’d be interested in learning the source of the counterfeit money he passed. Did he know the bill was counterfeit? If he did it shows a typical progression of criminal behavior. It still does NOT justify the actions taken in his arrest. Perhaps an unbiased collection of details might provide some meaningful insight to the eventual breakdown of procedure resulting in his death. Counterfeit currency is the preview of the Secret Service, not local police. Mr Floyd appeared to be a known entity and as such the Secret Service could have processed the complaint in their normal fashion at a latter date. Like most disasters, the killing was the result of a series of errors by all involved. That does not forgive the actions of the police nor does it exonerate the actions of Mr Floyd.

The problem is that there were threats made against the jurors and they knew. Given the choice between perjury or death to self and family most folk will choose perjury. On appeal the defense can make the reasonable argument that the jury opinion was influenced by the protestors and some government comments as well as the argument that the jurors will not publicly admit to that under fear of lynching. The judge admitted that he erred in an open trial with the ability of bad actors to to have access to the jurors identity. My prediction is that after appeals the decision will be thrown out and that the prosecution will get stuck due to inability to agree on a fair and impartial slate of jurors. Get the circus out of the courtroom and let justice prevail. The man was guilty and will be free because of a populist jury system at the local level.

Finally an elected official with a legitimate excuse for forgetting campaign promises (thank goodness).

I don’t expect the democrats will allow any use of a vaccine while Donald Trump is still President. They are willing to accept more deaths rather than allow him the chance to say he saved lives.
