Hey everyone. It’s the cartoonist. I wanted to thank you all for choosing Big Top as a place to hang out these past years. There’s one more day of the Big Top run left. Not sure if they’ll start over or not… I guess we’ll see. Hope so! For those interested, I’m close to finishing my first graphic novel, Monster on the Hill, which will be out next spring from Top Shelf Productions. It’s been almost three years in the making and I can’t wait. So, thanks for the amazing breakfasts, the Nuclear Coffee… and long live the Tribe!
Hey, all. Rob Harrell here. I want to say a HUGE thanks to Phil Dunlap for filling in on the strip for me this week, and Corey Pandolph for taking the reins next week. They are filling in for me because I am a klutz who managed to break my leg a few weeks ago…by merely standing up out of a chair…in a tux, no less! It was a nasty break that required surgery, and Phil and Corey are allowing me some much needed time to get back to work.I think it’s a lot of fun seeing what these two amazing cartoonists are doing with the characters. I can say from experience that taking over the art on a strip is a thankless task… so THANK YOU, guys. You truly rock.
Noticed Big Top didn’t refresh and disappeared from the A – Z list. I’ve started the investigation into the problem. Hope it will be fixed soon. As in maybe today?? Sorry for the confusion. I gather the overhaul of the site is causing some problems. Wink is beside himself.
I just wanted to point out why these strips are by guest artists. Back in ‘06 when I had surgery for eye cancer, a group of insanely nice and talented cartoonists filled in for me for two weeks while I had surgery for (eye) cancer. Yesterday’s was by Mark Pett, today’s is by Glenn McCoy. If you have any questions about who the strips are by in the coming couple of weeks, I’ll try to stop by and answer questions. It’s an insanely cool list of cartoonists…
I can’t thank this group enough. With their help, I think we got through the whole ordeal with only a week of reruns.
In February, I reached my five year anniversary of the surgery and I’m still here - and I couldn’t be happier about that. Endless thanks to my colleagues, friends, family and my amazing wife for getting me through a horrible time.
And thanks to you all in ‘the tribe’ for showing up and making this a lively place every day. And for the breakfasts!
Okay. I shudder at how shameless this is, but given the economy and today’s comic about the You’re Dusted t-shirt, I thought maybe I could get a pass for being tacky.
