I’m happy to see the old style character on top of the Sunday comics. I saved a memorable Heart of the City storyline from 2012, where Dean thought he lost his cat Spock (the storyline was a dedication by creator for their lost cat, Tudaze, that crossed over the Rainbow Bridge). Dean and Heart’s character were drawn simplistically and in black and white, but I was able to really see and feel the emotions of distraught, reflection and happiness through them. I miss those days of less sophistication.
Scott, you’re a Creator for your comics, and being a “professional”, you also “assume” that most of your readers will understand what you have written or drawn. Quoting a direct comment you wrote on Working Daze (3/10/24), to William Bludworth’s Comment to your comic……“I shouldn’t have to keep explaining it”. So Scott, we’re splitting hairs here, and you have your opinion and I have mine, and using your line regarding why I wrote Greatest of All Time, “I shouldn’t have to keep explaining it” (to only you). But putting this aside, what’s truly disappointing and a complete and total “turn off”, is that to find out the a comic which I enjoyed and admired (Working Daze and Maria) for years and years, is to find out that the Creator behind these comics is a troll and a total jerk (putting it mildly). Somehow, it’s hard to see the enjoyment in Working Daze and Maria anymore, and it’s disappointing to remove them from my daily reading list, and not laugh at Rita’s or Maria’s antics (and yes, there were a few times that I didn’t understand the humor behind it or had to reread it to understand what your were implying and assuming that I would understand). But like anything, that’s my free choice and I’m sure you don’t care (assuming again). So I “hope” enough has been said and written, so we can part ways and not waste anymore time.
Really….. Wow…… I didn’t know that! Seriously……. I think you missed the point that in “my”view, he’s not a failure, but the Greatest of All Time. He’s shows his fragility in life, but shows kindness with a big heart. Something that’s missing in this era of polarization.
