Also, BTW, this Countess had a reknowned salon in her day, and was married to a very wealthy man. She seemed to have been considered a beauty. Just like today’s Lady Gaga’s a real beauty, or Beyonce.

No pregnancy, just that the corset gave her a small waist and the rest had to go somewhere, right? Women were allowed to eat in those days. Today woman have no bodies, just legs. Ummm, what does that signify psychologically? Ingres: the greatest portraiturist ever. Her cousin’s (Princess de Broglie’s) picture is, IMHO, the greatest portrait ever painted. Look closely at the movement in the that one, she’s breathing (throat and necklace) and her bracelet is falling down her arm. Absolute brilliiant.

What about today’s straight down, parted in the middle uniform hair? They did have greasy stuff then to smooth it down. They didn’t have plastic surgery then, however.

“Fennec” wrote: “And don’t forget that many large private companies also chip in for their workers’ benefits.” Sure they do. Ahem, Fennec, employers get tax benefits for their largesse. They don’t “offer” health care plans out of the kindness of their “hearts”. We don’t need employer plans or insurance companies to make money from our pain and suffering. We need the greater pool of Medicare for all, minus the huge deductible that Medicare demands and the too-expensive Medicare monthly premiums. But Medicare is a lot cheaper than what we pay out for the insurance companies to strangle us.

Give ‘em all guns and confine them in a compound in the Nevada desert. Then we won’t have to worry about the gun lovers any more.
