I remember my grandmother and my mother heating the old flat irons on the wood burning stoves to do the ironing each Tuesday. Monday was wash day each week and tuesday ironing. I had to help carry water for the wash from the creek behind our house in the gold camps and lumber camps. I turn 78 day after tomtorrow and it seems like it was just yesterday now that I am commenting on it. Life is great and God is good.

The first time my children saw buffalo I asked them if they knew what sound they made. I said "cows “moo” and horses “neigh”, what do you think buffalo say? No suggestions came forth so I told them, "buffalo go “buff”, "buff. My wife gave me one of those looks but didn’t say anything. I don’t really remember how long I let that one hang. They still get a kick out of it when it is brought up.

I might go for a “bowl” of cereal rather than a “dish”. Milk might spill too easily.

How about a December 24th, Christmas Eve, marriage? December 24, 1953, coming up on our 58th anniversary and still going strong. A loving wife and four children, Navy Brats all, 13 grand children and three great grand children. Would do it all over again. Life is good and so is God.
