We had only known each other for about six months when we got married. And from the time we decided to get married until the time we actually did was only a week. I’m pretty sure everyone who knew us marked down the date on their calendars and noted when nine months would be up. Of course, we fooled them all.
Good for you Retired Dude:-) 42 years for us. 3 out of 4 parents were not particularly happy, but we are still happily married with 2 happily married children and 2 lovely grand children. It isn’t magic. It is commitment and hard work.

From the first time we met to our first parting, the first thing we told each other is, “I love you.” And the last thing we heard was, “I love you.” And when he died in my arms those three words were thing last words we heard from each other. That was 16 years ago and those words lasted in my heart for that long and until I join with my husband. A couple of people didn’t think it would last. I think not.
