“Sign me up!” Quick!
Even before I saw the comment, I was going to write, “I don’t mind the quotation marks so much, what gets me is unnecessary exclamation points!!!!” But “LL McC” beat me to it.
It would have made more sense, which I suppose is “unnecessary,” to use the quotation marks on the word “unnecessary.”
Every quotation mark is “necessary!”
I wonder if they have an air quotes division.
Doesn’t this fall under the Department of Grammar Nazis?
I “Love” it!
Be careful of what look like misused irony quotes. When, say, the “best in town” turns out to be the worst, they can use the quote marks as a defense.
I used to pass a driveway sign that read: “Rabbits” for sale. I always wondered what exactly “rabbits” were. Chinchillas with longer ears taped on…?
And don’t get me started about, commas!!!!
Okay, next let’s tackle unnecessary apostrophes.
It’s a nice place to work, lots of “benefits” but they do insist you be punctual.
At least no one complained about (or mentioned) excessive use of parentheses.
