Telling someone to calm down seldom results in them feeling like they want to calm down. When someone says “Don’t yell at me.”, it can also tend to elicit the opposite effect.

Calm down, calm down… it’s just a cartoon!

Like Woody Allen’s joke: “My ex-wife claimed she was violated. Knowing my ex-wife, it wasn’t a moving violation.”

Definitely, the wife killing her husband in that case is justifiable homicide.

At some point Dateline switched to just true crime stories.

Beware of people who relax by watching true crime shows.

The trick is to remain calm yourself. My second wife was of the generation thought it was a crime to have an unvoiced resentment. :(
