I store mine on leftover wire spools. They’ll hold 150 to 200 feet of lights if you find the right ones. Put a stick through the center hole and unwind your lights as you need them to put them up. That, plus a “light stick” (a long stick with a finish nail stuck in it) and you don’t even have to climb ladders to reach the nails or hooks that you left up from the season before.
It reminds me of the angry guy, from the paradody song, “The 12 pains of Christmas”, that is trying to rig up the lights. “One goes out, they all go out”! and, “Somebody get a flashlight, I blew a fuse”!
