Human beings have less genetic diversity than chimpanzees. Gene mapping suggests that all 7 billion + humans on the planet today are descended from a handful of survivors from some disaster between 75,000 and 250,000 years ago. Perhaps even several disasters. So it’s not really that surprising that it may be hard to pinpoint the exact percentage of geographic makeup of one’s ancestors.

Using DNA to help explain geographic ancestry can be very confusing and misleading.
