I feel that way about it myself. That thirty year golden age of taping is closing and my experiences with DVDs has been exasperating of late.

My VCR is still flashing “12:00”! Now where did all those Blockbuster stores go?

I have my videos as MP4s, but I still have to convert Video Tape to DVDs for friends and family. A real pain. They can’t grasp the idea that you connect a flashdrive to the TV and play them or stream them over the network.

Back when I would get ‘free satellite TV,’ I taped everything in sight. I’m paying for that sin now, finding that converting from VCR to DVD requires TIME and plenty of it ! I’ve got the machinery for the deed, but not the inclination… (argh!)

Bottlescope, What do you mean Win 10 doesn’t support MP4? Strangely I have them on my Win 10 machines.
