Fool! Luddite! How can you trust looking out the window when there’s a phone app available?!

(I don’t even own a phone with apps.)

It is July and it is RAINING! I can’t remember the last July with rain. I am a gardener and notice these things. It is really needed. Some people think water comes in bottles from the back of the supermarket.

Here in northern Erie County, NY we finally are receiving a measurable amount of rain this morning. (3/4" since midnight) The only downfall will be that I’ll have to mow the lawn again.

My daughter and I went to an IndyCar race in St Petersburg, FL.

The Weather Channel app said a 50% chance of rain. It rained for the first 55 laps. At lap 56 the sun came out for the last 55 laps

When the forecast calls for 50 percent of rain (or whatever), it’s not the probability of a weather event occurring. It’s the amount of the coverage area which will see a weather event. It could be raining in one town but dry in the next.

Actually, the weather guessers are only giving the approximate area coverage percentage.
