    The loan officer has to be on board with every piece of lumber he gets – the wood can knot have any significant defects. There’s no use going against the grain and trying to argue with him.

    I was choosing wood for a deck at a lumberyard some years ago. A guy watched me for a while, to the point where I was getting concerned. Then, he asked me " I never saw a woman who could choose wood like that. Will you marry me?" At least, the most original pick up line I ever heard.

    I just finished talking to a contractor about building a 10 ftX6foot room onto the back of my garage and the price of wood was mentioned!!
