Vacationed in the mountains last month. Decided to visit the town next door. Navigation app steered me off the paved road onto a gravel and dirt road that was very narrow and winding. It was dangerous – could not see very far ahead, and twice had to pull over tight beside drop offs to allow oncoming traffic to pass. Full of holes and rain runoff ditches – kept grounding the bottom of my car. That “shortcut” cost me an extra half hour of teeth-clenching driving to save about two miles – and at its end I was back on the same paved road that the app had me turn off of.

It took my brother about an hour to drive a half mile to my house because he doesn’t like the voice on his map app AND he can’t follow directions.

If I had the stomach flu and there was a foot of snow, I certainly wouldn’t be tracking an elephant.

That’s a very graphic image. And reminds me of various members of my family, also direction challenged.
