I hate news teasers. As soon as I see one on TV, I flip to the next news station in my preprogrammed news line-up.
But Red is right about the need to pay for news. Eventually I suspect there will have to be revenue-sharing between the cable/satellite TV systems and the various news presenters. If the old wire services (or some updated equivalent) can get in on the deal, there might even be hope for newspapers.
