What's Schroeder doing? Practicing the piano. Seems pointless to me. How so? He has no competition. He's like the only kid in the funnies who even plays the piano.
This assumes practice is only for competition. All those recitals I figured were for the benefit of the parents and the music teacher. Schroeder is practicing and playing because he loves the music. Formal training has not choked that out of him yet.
