You really think staying in tip top shape will help you fend off the ladies someday? It has to. I don't want anyone or anything to ever come between us.
For 14 years we enjoyed the companionship of our Black Lab, with just a touch of Doberman. He adored people, especially kids. He would lie (unchained) on our front stoop and watch people walk their dogs by our house. Only after they were out of site would he get up to check out the scents left on the street. Every evening, like clockwork, exactly at 7:00 and 9:00, he would come get me to take our walk, even in winter in Minnesota. It was with mixed emotions that we had to have him put to sleep after he broke a back leg, weakened by cancer. It’s difficult to say goodbye to such a buddy.

My dog was my best friend: he helped me find the “good” boys!

Staying in tip top shape may actually attract the ladies one day. Hopefully you’ll find someone who will be Rover’s friend too.

A good woman would never come between a man and his dog.

When it comes my time to go, I’m not worried about Heaven - I just want to be sent where my old dogs went..

@Dee4the animals, once again you are absolutely, completely correct! No good woman would EVER want to come between a man and his dog.
And any woman who would want to…well, she would certainly not be worth the bother.
