Ok lets hear a few stories from some of you cold country folks. anyone ever done what Red is doing. I guess it took some advance planning to have a hose that was not full of ice. Never had the chance to do that on the the Texas Gulf coast or in central Brasil.
We used to make rinks in that way all the time. Make a packed snow perimeter then fill it with water a bit at a time – ½ inch seemed to work pretty well. don’t leave the hose out between applications!
I was in northern Sumatra last month and was trying to explain snow to kids born and raised on the Equator. I am not sure the younger ones believed me.
