This may sound odd, but I was never aware of the profound difference between our construction and the construction of dogs until I accidentally got in the way of a bite intended for another dog. In that brief moment I could feel that the strength of the jaws and teeth were completely different from mine. Then I began noticing the musculature. We have non-working Border Collies, and their muscles are dense and hard, way beyond what you’d think for animals their size. Yes, Red, Rover will win every time. He’s built for it.
