Back in the 1990s, we had a restaurant not far from our business in Southern Minnesota called Maid-Rite. They had what was called a “loose meat sandwich” and it was quite good. I believe the chain started in Iowa; but unfortunately, mostly due to significant competition from other fast food joints I suppose, they didn’t last, at least in Minnesota…
