There has been recent speculation – including some from myself – that Red and Rover will have gone from the 1960s to the 1970s with the new year. One of my comments was that there have already been 1970s references in the strip.
Today, I looked up “Red and Rover” on Wikipaedia and see that the mid-1970s references were made in 2009 and 2011. Obviously Brian Basset’s nostalgia takes him back and forth. Red and Rover have been in the 1970s before and may be there now but they may be back in the 1960s.
Every meal I eat, my boy (Lab) comes over and lays down about 3 feet away. He’ll be all nonchalant and act like he is sleeping. But If I make a sudden move, he’ll open one eye. He’s not fooling anybody!
One of my mom’s most famous disasters was canning spagetti sauce. Something went wrong in the canner, and two quarts of the sauce exploded over the kitchen and ceiling. She and Dad were finding spots of red for years.
