Boy, is that spot on! We have to feed my Rugby in three shifts. Otherwise, he has huge digestion problems. Simple solution to a potentially very serious outcome. Brian really has his finger on the pulse of dogs.

Had a small boxer (60lbs), she would take 1 nugget at a time, fling it across the room, zoom after it, fling it again. She would do this about a dozen times and then settle down to eat her kibble at a leisurely pace. Needless to say, it didn’t take long to figure out to take anything breakable out of that room. Miss her antics…..

In the wild it is survival adaptation to bolt down your food, as slow eaters often missed out. We humans are fortunate to be able to take leisurly meals.

Today’s strip reminds me of a Woody Woodpecker cartoon in which Wally Walrus complained about the noise from Woody’s home and sarcastically asked “Could you possibly make more noise?” Woody instantly became a One Bird Band.

We had a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who could finish his dinner in 20 seconds. Then I put a heavy can in the middle of the bowl, turning it into a torus. It took him 3 minutes to finish dinner, although as he learned how to deal with it, he got that down to 2 minutes.
