    We had a chair like that. Plastic yellow strips that sometimes separated and your butt would fall through! (Circa 1963). I love this strip….so accurate of those times.

    I’m not sure what decade this strip is set in, but I would guess 60-70 years ago. At that time I was Red’s age and my dad had a portable AM tube radio like that, and it used a couple different sizes of expensive batteries. I always caught heck if I spent too much time listening to it because of the cost to replace them. But I, did late at night, when atmospheric skip allowed me to listen to WLS in Chicago and the big band live broadcasts, 1000 miles away. That’s how I got my first love of jazz.
