Rover’s hydrotherapy is the best!

So far no one has commented on the times when Charlie Brown fell on his back trying to kick Lucy’s football. I suspect that was a major influence on Red’s fall.

Another influence may have been the cartoons in which Wile E. Coyote chased Roadrunner only to injure and humiliate himself. For most of his career, Chuck Jones was billed as Charles M. Jones just as Charles Schulz signed his work as Charles M. Schulz and would later have Charlie Brown called “Chuck” by Peppermint Patty.

Rover doesn’t have to outrun Red. He just has to outrun the hose.

Maybe tomorrow Red and Rover will just enjoy a quiet sunrise.

This reminds me of a day when I chased off a stray dog who was pestering my cats on one of our walks. I slipped and fell abrading a heavy jacket against the roadway down to the flesh of my arm. To add insult to injury, as I lay bleeding, the dog came back to see if I was OK. :)

That looks like fun. Rover enjoys being chased with the cool water on a hot day — look at his face. And Red isn’t hurt, just embarrassed. He likes Rover’s kisses anyway. Win — win — win — win…
