I love wasps too. They may not pollenate as much and they’re a bit more aggressive, but they protect plants from hungrier, less respectful insects! They’re like nature’s pesticide!
My daughters & I were doing a 5k walk. At one point a bee landed on my younger daughter’s arm (critters love her) and “rode” with us for about a mile, until we came upon some flowers, then it took off. What was cool was, at one point, my daughter gently petted the bee! (For the record, my older daughter, who is terrified of most bugs, was quietly freaking out.)
I planted a blue chiffon bush in our yard a few seasons back. It is well established now and blooms wonderfully throughout the summer. Bees eagerly work on the big flowers. Every couple of days I pluck the dead blooms from it while the bees do their thing around me. No aggressiveness or anything. It’s like we have an agreement as if they know I do things to help the bush and, by extension, them. Now, I focus on renovating our backyard to be a haven for pollinators.

Pretty sure they are only working so hard replacing the Honey we stole from them.

Sadly, the pesticides we’ve overused since the petroleum and chemical industries introduced them has been traced to bee colony collapse.

Everyone aware that honeybees are NOT native to North America? They were introduced by British colonists. Honeybees are an invasive species.
