Again, we see that the difference between Red and Rover is similar to the difference between Calvin and Hobbes. There was an early Calvin and Hobbes strip in which Hobbes was complaining to Calvin that he should be doing something instead of just sitting watching a TV show that wasn’t really interesting him. He was standing behind Calvin while saying this. In the final panel, he had moved and was sitting watching the TV with Calvin.
Although Calvin and Red are both showing signs of being young TV addicts, they find many things to do besides watching television.
My dog wants the TV on at 8p. I suspect it was a routine at one of her previous homes. I accommodate when I can. She luckily can’t handle a remote yet.
This morning, I reflected on my sick days as a kid. I liked the excuse not to go to school, but daytime TV was full of either less popular adult fare or preschooler fare. I settled for the latter, because at least I could follow it.
Not such a problem in the age of streaming services.

And that folks is why we called it the clicker, not the remote! God I love this comic strip!

I really like this strip because it shows that rover is either picky with his TV channels or is smarter then Red…

Bad television is what we had in the 50s. 3 major stations, an independent and PBS.
