Martin showed a much better than usual side to his character in last year’s Halloween arc. You may remember that Red was ill in bed and upset at missing out on trick or treating. It then turned out that Martin had been trick or treating for Red as well as for himself and really did share the candy with Red. One reader commented, “It’s a Halloween miracle.”
Of course, Red found the next day that Martin had saved all the best candy for his own half. That’s his idea of sharing. As some readers pointed out, it was still nice of Martin to share at all.

I’m surprised and sad that Red’s parents seem to allow Martin’s bad behavior in general, but most especially toward Red!
