But Rover would have gotten some Milk Bones even if he had let Red win.

Another strip that reminds me of Calvin and Hobbes. Hobbes beats Calvin at checkers too but Calvin is usually much more of a sore loser than Red ever is.

I recently stated that Bill Watterson and Brian Basset were born in the same year 1958 but I have since seen I was wrong. I have looked up Brian Basset as it is his birthday this month and I see that he was born on 30 November 1957 so he will be 67 at the end of this month. Bill Watterson was born in July 1958 so he and Brian are the same age for nearly half of each year.

Just love Rover’s victory walk.

Rover nudging Red to exchange his chips, his smug victory walk, his tilted head back and wide open mouth waiting for the milky bone drop—all his movements and expressions are just priceless! (I’ve said it before, Brian’s a master!)

LOL… Rover is smarter than the average kid.

It’s wonderful today! What a way to train a dog, especially one as smart as Rover!
