I had always wanted to go to the Smithsonian Museum of American History, and when my sister said she was going to Washington, DC in September 2006, I jumped at the chance. Then I flipped on NPR and they announced the museum was closing for refurbishment. (The luck of the Irish, I tell ‘ya.) I spent the extra time walking through Georgetown. But now I get to see what I missed.
While going through old National Geographics this weekend, I found a Richard Thompson illustration. He’s a DC artist, and National Geographic is a DC-based magazine, so it makes sense.
