Valentina Tereshkova flew Vostok 6 in 1963, not 1953. Sputnik wasn’t launched until 1957

Yes, 1953 is definitely not the right year. It was 16 June, 1963.

that error was SO blatantly obvious; unless the editor is so young that 1953 and 1963 blend together into such a hodgepodge of ancient history that both seem likely. ….1953, wasn’t that the year the U.S. president was assassinated? what the heck was his name?….uh………

I believe the ‘milking’ process involved extracting the snail from its shell and squishing the body. Ewww.

Maybe the purple dye starts out gray? I know the dye for bluejeans starts out orange, and then changes to blue during the dyeing process.

In Japan, it’s Yamada Tarō (山田太郎); In Korea, it’s Hong Gil-dong (홍길동전); in ancient Rome, it was Numerius Negidius; in Israel, it’s Israel Israeli (ישראל ישראלי).

OK, I had heard the name Ivan Awflitch being used – didn’t he write a book on Siberian skin diseases?
