In September 2011, police in Rotterdam, Netherlands, charged a woman with stalking after calling a man 65,000 times a year- an average of 178 times a day! A Christmas Carol was a bust! Although it was an immediate success and sold out its initial print run of 6000 copies- A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens left its author with little profit. Dickens' insistence on a lavish format combined with publishing expenses and commission arrangements probe the margin down... Bah, humbug!
