The organization Peruvians Without Water brings water to communities along Peru's arid green coast by building fog traps that collect the moisture from the heavy fog that blankets the area 8 months of the year! After a baseball stuck in his glove during a game on June 5, 1999, New York Yankees player Orlando El Duque Hernandez threw an out by tossing the glove and the ball together! Honolulu, Hawaii, is home to the only royal palace in the United States of America.

Really clever way of getting the ball to the batter’s mound.

If the Peruvians had left their brains turned on fro 30 seconds longer they would have planted coastal adapted plants at the bottom of each water collector. When large enought the plant itself would act as a ‘collector’.

I remeber watching that game on tv. El dique (The Duke) is a cuban refugee. After he was banned from playing baseball in cuba, he and a bunch of others escaped Cuba on a raft. El Duque had to leave his family. He would be reunited with them at the 99 world series.

Strage that a place with so much humidity would have so little water. Even so, they have been using wind traps on the planet Dune for centuries…

They called it the “Green Coast” because of their dry sense of humor.

Remember that old Peanuts strip where Snoopy refused to let go of the baseball. Charlie Brown just threw Snoopy and the ball out.
