In 1916, the British Army banned popular Charley Chaplin style mustaches among World War I soldiers for fear of being ridiculed by the enemy. Shhh! I'm taking a shortcut! Every stage winner and the final top four riders in the second Tour de France in 1904 were disqualified for cheating- their offenses included taking shortcuts, catching trains and riding in cars. In 1892, mussels rained from a yellow cloud in the sky over Paderborn, Germany.

You think that’s bad? Imagine what would have happened if a British soldier had been caught wearing one of those kinda ’staches during the SECOND World War.

I’m not believing the story of raining shellfish. How’s that possible?

I didn’t think anyone but Hitler and Chaplin wore that kind of moustache. Michael Jordan had one for a few years.

As for why it’s always just one sort of animal or object no one has ever come up with an explanation.

I worked for an SOB who had a mustache like chaplin,s I realy think Hitler might have been his hero. Sadam Husane had a mustache like stalin’s. more hero worship I bet.

Man, that’s about the most shameful sporting event I ever heard of.

I don’t know how long sunscreen has been around, but today’s Tour de France contestants need to use a lot of it during the Tour. If sunscreen was not around during the second tour, two ways of getting out of the sun, yet keep moving, are catching trains and riding in cars, preferably on the floor in the back seat, where sun rays don’t reach.

If it rained mussels where I live, I would cook them for dinner.
