Ripley's Believe It or Not by Ripley’s Believe It or Not! for December 05, 2014
Transcript:
In 1920, 10,000 people lined the streets of Newark, New Jersey, to pay their respects to a local pet canary called Jimmy, who was carried in a coffin by a 500 strong funeral possession complete with a 15 piece band. Studies have shown that hospital patients in rooms with views of trees recover quicker than patients with no views or windows revealing brick walls. Women did not run in the Olympic races longer than 800 M until the 1972 Munich Olympics.

Jimmy has been dead for almost a hundred years now. I wonder if his owners’ descendants still remember the stories.
