A horse can actually generate up to 15 horsepower! I hear the groom is a real dog! For good luck Russian bank Sberbank loans cats to clients who take out new mortgages. In August 2014, an 18-year-old girl married a dog under orders from elders in her village in India, because they thought it would lift an evil spirit from her.

Where does Sberbank even get the cats?

The only evil in her village is … the village elders.

We did an experiment in physics class in H.S. where every student did their best to generate 1 H.P. I managed to hit just over that mark. That was one of the fun labs!!

If I remember right, the horsepower unit was purposely underrated in order to help sell tractors when they first came out. So one horse generating fifteen horsepower makes sense.

If one looks at only useful energy expenditure (the amount that goes into keeping the runner moving), a marathoner will generate about 1/5 horsepower. But, if waste heat is included, the marathoner will generate about 1 horsepower.
