The newly discovered bone house wasp of China protects its larvae by blocking the entrance to its nest with dead ants. Say what? Women were barred from running the Boston Marathon until 1972, as organizers did not believe they were capable of finishing. Radium spas, where visitors bathe in hot radioactive Springs, are still popular in Japan, where many people believe that the water prevents aging and cures various ailments.

{sarcasm} Madame Curie sure would’ve like going to a Japanese radium spa alright.

I wonder how much radon gas is hovering just above the surface of the water – you know, right where everybody is breathing. It will prevent aging. You die young.

Those radium baths do prevent old age. Not the symptoms of old age but old age itself. Nobody lives past 40 taking these baths.

For some reason, in the past, anything new was viewed as healthy. I remember when shoe stores had X-ray machines so you’d get a good shoe fit! It was interesting to see your toe bones wiggling! However, shortly after, the machines were recalled.Maybe it is because of these past fiascos that everyone is so sceptical of GMOs?
