In the 1890s, the flow of the Chicago River with permanently reversed to protect Lake Michigan from pollution! A kitten was discovered inside an SUV suspension spring in Sakhalin, Russia, in June 2014, having survived a 50 mile journey! At the Owll Shop Cafe in Tokyo, Japan, visitors can dine with more than 20 resident owls (who are not on the menu).

How did a poor kitty get into a spring anyway? Thank goodness its curiosity didn’t kill it!

Reversing the Chicago River’s flow doesn’t stop the Asian carp, though.

Thank god no bumpy roads. It’d been ’cat’astrophic

Back then just what did it take to reverse the river? Superman can do that, but he was not born yet

I don’t trust the Owl Shop to treat its residents right.

Cats are odd. One day it was raining hard. A cat just went to the porch to stay dry. We figured it was the neighbors cat so we left it alone. 3 weeks later its still there. We found out no one knows whose cat it is. So we slowly took it in

One day a kitten was found wandering in the parking lot at work. It was taken in by one of the office staff for safe keeping. A co-worker went to see the kitten. It was her kitten! It had apparently crawled up into her car’s engine compartment and had rode there during her 36 mile commute.
